Operating from two industrial buildings within the Colomendy Industrial Estate Denbigh, Humphreys Signs asked to us to survey and propose a new data communications link between their facilities to improve performance of data transfer between their two local area networks (LANs). This was an essential requirement primarily for their printing operations, and the assumption was that it could be achieved using a wireless site-to-site link. However, although both premises were relatively nearby, there wasn’t a direct line-of-sight.
We completed a survey at both sites and with additional mapping tools we concluded that there was a potential path using an additional location on the industrial Estate so we developed a wireless dogleg design as part of our proposal. Once the proposal was accepted, all parties entered into an agreement and work began to deploy two point-to-point wireless links. The outcome delivered an affordable dedicated, and securely encrypted, site-to-site wireless link allowing the transfer of large format printing data between the design office and the factories as well as allowing remote maintenance and monitoring of the industrial printing machines.
