Daniel Morris Butchers is a family-owned butchery offering online ordering with free home delivery in North Wales and a high-street presence in Denbigh, Mold, and Ruthin. When Daniel Morris Butchers decided to expand their business with additional retail outlets and offer local online ordering facilities, they recognised the importance of efficiently managing stock levels and sales from their head office in Denbigh. To achieve this, they ensured that each location was equipped with an Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) system and weighing machines capable of communicating with the central order processing system. Additionally, with the growth of online sales and customer enquiries, there was a need to enhance telecommunications, office software applications, and email systems to streamline correspondence between the shops and their customers.
Daniel Morris contacted In2Com at their Denbigh office, seeking a local service provider to discuss a proposal for new data communication links between the shops’ EPOS systems and the head office. We immediately suggested that a site-to-site virtual private network (VPN) would be a simple and suitable solution, utilising inexpensive business broadband services at each site. During further discussions, we also addressed the telecommunications requirements with a proposal for an In2Com cloud voice service. As a Microsoft Cloud Solutions Provider (CSP), we complemented the proposal by offering to onboard them to a new Microsoft 365 tenancy, providing the latest Microsoft Office applications and Outlook, optimally configured to deliver secure email, multifactor authentication, and email anti-forgery mechanisms (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC). Following our initial meeting with Daniel Morris, we liaised with the local EPOS vendor and conducted broadband surveys in Denbigh, Mold, and Ruthin to develop a detailed proposal, which was subsequently accepted by the customer.
Completed successfully in coordination with the shop fitters and in time for the opening, Daniel Morris Butchers now benefits from a unified cloud communications system, secured private networking, comprehensive maintenance, and a support plan. This plan includes critical network monitoring, failure reporting, and priority same-day response to cover hardware failures and accidental damage, thereby ensuring business continuity.
